About Me

I am a wildlife biologist studying the behavior, energetics, movement, and conservation of marine megafauna.

My current research combines field observations, aerial photogrammetry, biologging, stable isotopes, movement data, and quantitative modeling to investigate how marine predators respond to environmental change and human impacts.

I am originally from Maple Valley, WA, and attended undergraduate at the University of Idaho where I studied Environmental Science and Wildlife Science. After undergraduate, I spent a year as a Fulbright student in Denmark & Greenland studying and researching polar ecosystems. I then lived in England for a year, working with the British Antarctic Survey. I attended Moss Landing Marine Laboratories where I completed a master’s thesis on the foraging ecology of emperor penguins. Currently, I am pursuing my doctoral degree at Oregon State University where my dissertation focuses on predator-prey dynamics of large whales.
